So, where are those videos I was going to make? Hmmm.
They are still marinating in my brain, apparently. Do not fear, though. Break time is here and I am setting up my vanity space for marathon video making. Now all I need to do is get a new set of rechargeable batteries for my best video camera. (Someone, who shall remain nameless, threw my others out because “they looked like regular batteries.”) I could use my Bloggie, but the color and quality shooting indoors is never good enough for makeup tutorials. (I know this because I shot a beaut-tastic peachy eye tutorial that I had to just delete because you couldn’t tell the peach from ivory.) Besides, editing with the MP4s is a pain in the tuchus because I don’t have a program on my oldster computer that can handle MP4s–which means I’d have to use JayCut, which can be timeconsuming what with all the uploading, editing, and downloading.
Anyway, the bottom line is this: I’ve done nothing yet, but I have brilliant plans for doing lots in the coming days.
Well, the weekly ramblings aren’t really coming weekly, but that’s okay.
Since I last wrote – which was about two weeks ago – not much has happened. I completed two makeup tutorials, which you can check out below. So, this weekend/next week, my goal is to pop out a few more wig reviews, a requested “What’s In Your Purse/Makeup Bag?” video, and a couple more makeup tutorials. Do you have any ideas for the tutorials? I don’t know what color direction to go in, since my everyday makeup has been so dull recently. I was mulling over an Amy Winehouse tribute tutorial earlier today, but I don’t know …
In the past week, I also joined Beautylish, which I heard about through the ultrafabulous Tamara, a.k.a. BeautyThesis. (Be sure to check out her site and her YouTube channel.) I’m really feeling the Facebook-meets-beautydom feel of the site, and I can’t wait to get a little time to myself so I can really beef up my page and do more product reviews and such.
Last but not least, this is my most exciting manicure since I last posted. I was inspired by the neon brights of highlighters. (The other hand was all pink with a neon yellow pointer.)
I was flipping through a couple-months-old O magazine the other day when I came across this CoverGirl ad. I’m loving the look that the lovely Dania Ramirez is working in this photo. I think I might find myself duping it and making a tutorial soon. Maybe even this weekend.
In fact, I have a number of videos to make this weekend. I want to get some wig reviews out of the way, and I have also been asked to post a makeup tutorial of this look featuring Makeup Forever’s Neon Pink (75) eyeshadow/blush.
My look this week has been understated, mostly because I never have enough time in the morning to do all the makeup I’d like to do. One bright spot: I rediscovered MAC Expensive Pink eyeshadow. I bought it three or four years ago and never wore it very much; I was a little disappointed because I thought it was too expensive (gold) and not enough pink. But I spotted it in my pink palette this week and decided to put it on. I used no base and applied it with my finger. It was simply lovely. I really mean that — it was nice and simple but very pretty. Maybe it works best when my face has a little more color, as it does right now in the midst of summer. Anyway, that kind of wear (no base, finger application) has been my M.O. for the entire week: Woodwinked (MAC), Expensive Pink (MAC), Blaze (Urban Decay), and Honeylust (MAC).
Speaking of discovering things: A few nights ago I found a brand new, unopened pack of nail decals in my nail polish storage box. And they’re really pretty! So, I did this look using the decals, MAC Paper Bag, Orly Shine On Crazy Diamond, and China Glaze Wireless Holographic Topcoat (from the OMG holo collection a couple years back).
